Vintage Chimayo Blue Coat
Vintage Chimayo Blue Coat
A 1940s/50s-era turquoise wool Ganscraft Chimayo coat tailored from a New Mexican genuine hand-woven wool blanket. The blue and light gray wool has accents of black, ivory, and red geometric medallions on the front and back. Two solid gray pockets on the front, and is finished with four original silver domed buttons attached with cotter pins with woven loop fasteners. The coat is unlined.
No visible moth bites or unraveling. Very good condition for the age, some fading and normal wear. Discoloration on one cuff - I have not attempted to clean but not very noticeable.
Size listed is 16 but that is not a modern size.
Please go by these measurements below, taken with the buttons closed for correct sizing.
Pit to pit: 21”
Sleeve: 24” (shoulder seam to cuff)
Shoulder to shoulder: 16”
Top of collar to bottom hem: 26”
