In this fiddle workshop we’ll learn a few tunes and the techniques to play them that will help develop a good old-time sound. We’ll also focus on listening to recorded sources and picking out details that will help you learn better from them. To get the most out of the workshop, you should already be comfortable playing some old-time tunes if not with leading jams. We’ll be learning exclusively by ear, so feel free to bring a recording device (audio or video).
Scott Prouty has an eclectic repertoire rooted in old mountain styles of fiddle playing, which include dance music as well as beautiful solo tunes.
